Murray High School student named as a Presidential Scholar

Murray High School senior, Sarah Elise Cauley was selected among 160 students across the country to be selected for the 2024 Presidential Scholars program.

Along with Cauley, four other Kentuckians were selected as Presidential Scholars including, Owen Matthew Borden of Fort Thomas, Jennifer Mi Nguyen of Grayson, Joshua Zyzak of Lakeside Park and Chase Phillips of Louisville.

U.S. Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona says the 161 high school seniors selected for the 60th anniversary of the U.S. Presidential Scholars program represents the best of the nation’s schools and inspire hope in the bright future of the country.

According to a news release, students are selected by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars annually based on their academic success, excellence in the arts and education, community service and leadership skills.

The Presidential Scholars class of 2024 will be recognized for their achievements this summer with a virtual ceremony.
