A motorcyclist was badly injured in a single-vehicle crash Saturday on Titus Road.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to Titus Road reports that a motorcyclist had crash out around 5:40 p.m. Investigation determined that the motorcycle, driven by 45-year-old William Kirby, had been heading east when a deer ran into his path.
He lost control of the motorcycle, when his a speed limit sign, causing it to overturn, with the motorcycle coming to a stop on top of Kirby.
Kirby was flown by helicopter to an out-of-state hospital for treatment of severe injuries. Alcohol and speed are both listed as possible factors in the collision.
