Mayor joins Hope’s Healthcare staff to spotlight mental health awareness

The staff at Hope’s Healthcare were joined by Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight who read a proclamation recognizing May as Mental Health Awareness Month on Thursday.

Hope’s Healthcare is a local behavioral health organization that provides testing and treats psychiatric illnesses. While reading the proclamation, Knight spotlighted the importance of having open discussions about mental health and also thanked the staff at Hope’s Healthcare for their service to the community.

Katelyn Hodge the Practice Manager at Hope’s Healthcare says it was an honor to have Knight read the proclamation and thank them for their work. Hope’s Healthcare has been operating in the community for nearly four years and Hodge says they have reached over 1,000 patients.

Hodge says they strive to help people with a wide range of mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia and much more. Hope’s Healthcare also has a program called Hopeful Horizons where staff works with children between the ages of four and 10 who have ADHD, Autism and other conditions to help them appropriately interact and play with other kids.

More information about the services at Hope’s Healthcare is available at Hope’s Healthcare on Facebook.
