The Dallas Mavericks will open their 2024-25 NBA season Thursday night against the San Antonio Spurs and they will do so without former Hopkinsville High School star Jamarion Sharp.
The 7-foot-5 center was waived by the Mavericks over the weekend.
Sharp signed with the team earlier this summer as an undrafted free agent.
During the exhibition season, Sharp averaged 2.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.5 blocks in 9.1 minutes in four games.
After graduating from Hopkinsville High School, Sharp played two seasons for John A. Logan Junior College before transferring to Western Kentucky University where he played for two seasons. He transferred to Ole Miss for his senior season.
