Hopkinsville Police are investigating after an adult male was shot by a firearm on Walnut Street Wednesday afternoon.
The shooting occurred in the 1200 block of Walnut Street, and Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Captain Payton Rogers says the victim was in a car and suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest. Rogers says he was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center with CPR in progress.
The victim’s current condition is unknown. According to HPD, Walnut Street at East 12th Street is currently closed while officers investigate.
