Kentucky State Police is investigating after a man was killed in a shooting involving law enforcement in Logan County early Wednesday morning.
According to a news release, troopers were called to investigate an incident that happened in the Lewisburg community just before 1 a.m. Preliminary investigation shows that two Logan County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a disturbance on Lewisburg-Edwards Road, where a male suspect was reportedly armed with a firearm.
At some point during the interaction, he allegedly pointed the gun in the direction of deputies. That’s when one deputy fired an agency firearm, striking the victim.
The victim—whose name has not been released—was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported, and the investigation continues.
