Madisonville celebrates successful Fourth Fest, preparing for more summer events

The City of Madisonville has been celebrating, after they had a record-breaking year for their Fourth Fest and Praise in the Park event that was held during the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Luci Bess with the City of Madisonville says it was almost unbelievable how many people made their way to Madisonville City Park. She says they couldn’t be happier, and they were glad to offer such a tremendous event to the public at no cost.

She gave an overview of the event, saying with Sunday alone attracting 14,000 people.

She says the summer fun isn’t over just yet—they’ll have their next movies in the park on August 8 with a back-to-school celebration, and then the second-annual hot air balloon festival taking place on august 29.  And all of those events are free to attend as well.
