To spotlight local housing developments and programs, Focus 21st Century Minority Leadership Group and the Hopkinsville-Christian County Human Rights Commission are partnering to host the Community Housing Forum on Thursday.
Commission Executive Director Raychel Farmer says there is a lack of available and affordable housing nationwide, and at this forum local leaders will share their plans to address housing obstacles.
At the forum, Farmer says City of Hopkinsville Administrative Coordinator Cody Brem will talk about the recently created Housing Task Force, and Holly Boggess and Tom Britton from Community Development Services will spotlight rental rehabilitation incentive programs. She also says Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight and Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam will be in attendance to share current housing developments.
The forum starts at 6 p.m. at the Kenneth Bates Community Center at 745 East 2nd Street, and it will include free refreshments. Before the forum gets underway, Knight and Gilliam will read a proclamation at 5:55 p.m. spotlighting April as Fair Housing Month.
