It was a day for academic competition Saturday, as local high school academic teams went head-to-head to see who would emerge as the district champions.
Teams from Hopkinsville High School, Christian County High School and University Heights Academy participated in numerous categories, tested in their knowledge of science, math, social studies, language arts, arts and humanities, composition and, of course, the quick recall portion.
While the competition lasted a good part of the day, ultimately, UHA emerged as the district champs, with an overall ranking of first place, followed by HHS in second and CCHS in third. Heritage Christian Academy did not have a team this year at the high school level, though the elementary teams are set to compete next.
