The Hopkinsville-Christian County Boys & Girls Club announced the launch of it’s youth-led t-shirt business to help club members develop workforce skills.
According to a news release, the new business is a part of the club’s Life and Workforce Readiness Program. The t-shirt business will allow club kids to design and produce custom t-shirts for organizations and community members.
Those participating in the business will get paid for each t-shirt they press correctly and some of the proceeds will also go toward sustaining the business. The business intends to help club kids develop time management, team work, customer service, equipment operation and quality control skills
Boys & Girls Club Executive Director Terrence Davis says the program is about more than making shirts —it’s about preparing the youth for the workforce and life beyond the club. He also says the business is a great way for the community to support the club and get some reasonably priced t-shirts.
