University Heights Academy’s Conlee Lindsey took home a top-10 finish Sunday at the All “A” Classic State Golf Tournament at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond.
The Lady Blazers’ senior had an 8-over-par 80 to take eighth-place in the tournament.
Campbell Lindsey finished with a 99 to tie for 27th. Allie Sandifer took 59th with a 116 and Caroline Tucker carded a 122, which was 61st.
UHA was fifth as a team.
Ballard Memorial’s Madison Glisson took first place with a 1-under par 71. Lexington Christian’s Carter Lankford had a 73 and Cumberland County’s Kenzie Willen was third with a 76.
Lexington Christian won the team event with a 323, two shots better than Owen County.
Meanwhile, Cal Givens tied for 23rd place on the boys’ side with an 8-over-par 80.
Bryson Turner had an 86 to tie for 53rd. Courtland Gibson had an 88 and Hugh Sisk shot a 94 for UHA.
Pikeville’s Cam Roberts won the tournament with a 3-under par 69, three shots better than Lexington Christian’s Sy McDaniel.
UHA was 13th as a team in the event, which was won by St. Henry. Lexington Christian finished runner-up.
The Blazers and Lady Blazers will not participate in any scheduled outings Monday or Tuesday due to the death of a sixth-grade student at the school on Saturday.
