After undergoing a double mastectomy, State Lieutenant Gov. Jacqueline Coleman says her post-surgery reports have come back cancer free on Tuesday.
On December 18, Coleman shared a news release saying that cancer concerns were raised at a recent physical exam. Those concerns along with a history of cancer in her family led Coleman to getting a double mastectomy.
Following her post-surgery checkup, Coleman says if she had put off the procedure, skipped appointments, or not taken it seriously, it is likely the news she would have been sharing eventually would not have been good news.
Coleman reminds Kentuckians that early detection and prevention were difference makers for her and can be for them too and advises for those thinking about scheduling an appointment to go and get it done.
