Heritage Christian Academy will not play in the Girls’ Region 2 All “A” Basketball Tournament, which is scheduled to get underway tonight at various locations.
Originally, the Lady Warriors (0-5) were scheduled to receive a bye and play the winner between Caldwell County (5-5) and Livingston Central (3-6) in Thursday’s semifinals. With HCA withdrawing, the Lady Tigers and Lady Cardinals will play at 6 p.m. Thursday in the first semifinal at Dawson Springs High School.
HCA officials could not be reached for comment for this story.
In tonight’s first-round games, Lyon County (10-3) travels to Fort Campbell (0-2) for a 6 p.m. contest and defending champion Crittenden County (10-3) is at Dawson Springs (1-5) at 6 p.m. Monday. The winners will meet on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the semifinals at Dawson Springs High School.
The girls’ championship is set for 4 p.m. Jan. 10 at Dawson Springs.
Meanwhile, the Boys’ All “A” Region Tournament is set to begin Tuesday night at various locations.
In the top bracket, University Heights Academy (3-5) will travel on Post to face Fort Campbell (4-8) at 6 p.m.
Livingston Central (6-4) goes to Dawson Springs (3-8) at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the other quarterfinal game.
In the bottom portion of the bracket, defending champion Lyon County (7-5) will play Caldwell County (6-5) in Princeton at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Heritage Christian Academy (1-13) will travel to Marion to take on Crittenden County (0-15) at 6 p.m.
The semifinals are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9 and the championship is set for 7 p.m. Jan. 10 at Fort Campbell High School.
The Region 4 All “A” tournaments will begin tonight with Todd County Central’s Lady Rebels (2-11) at Clinton County (5-8) at 6 p.m. The Rebels (3-11) will play at Clinton County (12-2) at 7:30 p.m. today.
The girls’ semifinals and finals will be played Wednesday and Jan. 9 at Cumberland County High School. The boys’ semifinals and finals will be played Thursday and Jan. 10 at Cumberland County High School.
