Lady Warriors lose in KCAC volleyball quarterfinals

The Heritage Christian Academy volleyball team was knocked out of the Kentucky Christian Athletic Conference State Tournament Saturday evening in the quarterfinals by Whitefield Academy.

The Lady Warriors opened pool play Saturday morning with a 25-16, 25-20 win over Cornerstone Christian, but were knocked off in the second game by Community Christian 25-22, 11-25, 15-17.

In the bracket play, the Lady Warriors began with an easy 25-5, 25-13 victory over Frankfort Christian.

However, Whitefield Academy held off the Lady Warriors 26-24 and 25-20 to end the HCA state title hopes.

Mya Goodwin had 32 kills, six aces, 36 digs and six assists to pace HCA (4-2) over four matches. Hadlee Hayes added four kills, three aces, 26 digs and 40 assists.

Katie Cansler had 20 kills and 33 digs. Makenzie McCarty added nine kills, 20 digs and 15 assists and Bralee Fowler had nine digs and six blocks. Allie Craft added 25 digs and Grace Conley had 15 kills.

Heritage will play host to Hopkinsville in a District 8 match Tuesday night.
