The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers jumped out to a 37-4 lead and cruised past host Fort Campbell 75-28 Tuesday night in a girls’ District 8 basketball game.
The win gives the Lady Tigers the No. 2 seed for the District 8 tournament and Fort Campbell will be No. 3. Heritage Christian Academy has withdrawn from postseason play meaning the Lady Tigers and Lady Falcons will meet in the district tournament with a berth in the Region 2 tournament on the line.
Alicia Davis had 24 points and LaShanti Wilson added 19 for Hoptown, which improved to 7-9 overal and 1-1 in District 8. Taria Sharber had 12 points and Kaveyah White also hit double figures with 10 for the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Tigers are scheduled to play host to McLean County on Friday night.
Fort Campbell slipped to 3-11 and 1-2 in district play.
