Lady Tigers fall to Grayson County

It was a tough road trip to Litchfield Saturday afternoon for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers’ basketball team.

Grayson County opened the game on a 21-6 run and defeated the Lady Tigers 61-49 in a high school basketball game.

LeeLee Love paced Hoptown (4-5) with 14 points. Taria Sharber had 10 points and LaShanti Wilson had 11.

Hopkinsville held the Lady Cougars to only five points in the second quarter and closed the lead to 26-16 at halftime. However, the Lady Tigers never could get close enough to cause concern for Grayson, which improved to (5-6).

Grayson County hit nine 3-pointers in the contest and also connected on 20 of 22 free throw attempts. The Lady Cougars were led in scoring by Breigh Jones’ 27 points. Sutten Van Meter added 18.

The Lady Tigers return to action Tuesday night at home against Graves County.
