The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers used a flurry of first-half goals and a stingy defense to defeat visiting Fort Campbell 4-1 Tuesday night in a District 8 soccer match.
Kaydon Coats scored twice and Kaylyn Lynch and and Caroline Baker provided goals for the Lady Tigers (3-2, 1-0). Lauren Jones, Kila Cherry, and Jaycee Shanklin provided assists.
The two teams were scoreless until 14:39 mark of the first half when Coats scored the first of her goals. Lynch scored at 7:23 and Coats found the back of the net inside 2:00 in the first half as the Lady Tigers took a 3-0 halftime lead.
Jaleigha McFarland had nine saves for Hopkinsville.
Hoptown is scheduled to play Thursday night at Muhlenberg County.
