Lady Cols force extra innings, fall to Lyon in 8

Christian County scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to force extra innings, but a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning helped Lyon County edge the Lady Colonels 12-11 Tuesday in a high school softball game.

Jazzy Tejada’s monster home run over the left field fence that also cleared a school bus parked behind the field, tied the game at 11. Chloe Almy also had a three-run double in the inning.

Avery Adcock homered in the game for the Lady Colonels, who trailed 8-2 after four innings and 11-5 entering the seventh.

Adcock, Almy, Tejada, Alexis Epps, Katie Smith, and Talyn Ezell each had a pair of hits for Christian County, which slipped to 10-8 on the season.  Alyssa Petterson also added a triple in the game.

Jordan Turner picked up the pitching win, going six innings in relief. She struck out two and walked two.

The Lady Colonels are scheduled to play Thursday at home against Crittenden County.
