The Christian County Lady Colonels completed a successful run in the Lady of the South Invititation Basketball Tournament by claiming third place in the event.
Anaysia Bagwell hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 28 points to lead the Lady Colonels to a 64-54 win over the host Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriots Monday evening.
Bagwell and Na’Vaeh Day combined to score 33 points in the second half as the Lady Colonels rallied from a 23-21 halftime deficit. Christian County outscored the Lady Patriots 23-14 in the third quarter to gain control of the game and never looked back.
Christian County finished 3-1 in the event and improved to 9-7 overall on the season.
Day finished the game with 25 points, eight rebounds and five steals. DEbony Anderson finished with seven assists.
Franklin County, which was the only team to defeat Christian County in the tournament, held off Henderson County 57-54 to win the tournament.
The Lady Colonels return to action at 2:30 p.m. Saturday against Owensboro in Lyle Dunbar Gym.
