Lady Colonels playing in consolation championship of Lady of the South

The Christian County Lady Colonels will be playing for third place this afternoon in the Lady of the South Invitational at Allen County-Scottsville.

Christian County fell to Franklin County 53-40 in the semifinals on Sunday night. They had advanced with a 47-43 win over Portland, Tenn., on Friday, and a 50-41 victory over McCracken County on Saturday.

Against Franklin County, the Lady Colonels led early 13-12. However, they were outscored 15-9 in the second quarter and couldn’t come back. Na’Vaeh Day led Christian County against Franklin County with 13 points and seven rebounds. Lazarie Daniel added seven rebounds in the game.

Against McCracken County, the Lady Colonels got some revenge from an earlier season loss to the Lady Mustangs as Day had 19 points and Anaysia Bagwell added 16.

Daniel had six points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Against Portland, Day scored 20 points and Bagwell added 12 to lead the way.

The Lady Colonels (8-7) will take on the host Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriots today at 4:15 p.m.  Allen County lost to Henderson County 55-33 in the other semifinal on Sunday.
