The Christian County Lady Colonels remained undefeated in District 8 volleyball play by holding off visiting University Heights Academy 3-2 in a thrilling high school match Tuesday night.
The Lady Colonels, who are 5-0 in the district, won the first set 25-17 before the Lady Blazers claimed a 25-23 win the second set. The Lady Colonels took a 2-1 lead by winning the third set 25-22 but UHA forced the fifth set with a 25-15 win in the fourth set.
The Lady Colonels broke open a close set and went on to win 15-8 and claim the match.
Olivia Oakley had 13 kills seven digs. Taylor Cantrell had six kills and a block and Kiley Lambert had five kills. Gretchen Durham had 11 assists for UHA, which slipped to 3-3 in district play and 6-15 overall.
Christian County improved to 9-13 overall and will play at Heritage Christian Academy on Thursday night in a match between the top two teams in District 8.
