The high school basketball regular season is coming to a close and that means postseason awards are beginning to roll in.
Christian County High School senior forward Ne’Vaeh Day has been named the 2024-25 Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches Region 2 Girls’ Player of the Year.
Day is averaging 16.7 points and 10.6 rebounds per game and had led the Lady Colonels to a 16-9 record entering the District 8 tournament next week.
“I’m so proud of her,” Christian County coach Kiki Radford said. “She’s receiving the respect and the recognition she deserves.”
Day, a 5-foot-8 forward, has committed to play collegiately for Rend Lake Community College next season. The Lady Colonels star also will be a candidate for the 2025 Kentucky Miss Basketball.
Meanwhile, Crittenden County High School coach Shannon Hodge was named the Region 2 Girls’ Coach of the Year.
Hodge has coached the Lady Rockets to a 19-7 record this season.
