University Heights Academy earned the top seed in next month’s District 8 tournament by defeating visiting Christian County 9-1 Thursday night in a girls’ soccer match.
Kendall Hancock had a hat trick and an assist and Gracie Ausenbaugh added a pair of goals to lead the UHA offense. Audrey Perry had a goal and three assists.
Skylar Cantrell, Cecelia Langhi and Presley Bruce also had a goal each for the Lady Blazers, who improved to 10-2 overall and 3-0 in district play.
Madison Williams had one save and picked up the win in goal.
Carlie Hobson scored the Lady Colonels’ lone goal just before halftime as UHA led 6-1 at the break.
NeZiah Bell had 15 saves in goal for Christian County, who slipped to 1-12-1 overall and 0-3 in district play.
UHA will play Sayre in the quarterfinals of the All “A” Classic State Soccer Tournament Saturday at 8:30 a.m. local time at Louisville Collegiate.
Christian County returns to action Thursday against Russellville at the Stadium of Champions.
