Before Saturday morning’s game against visiting Hopkinsville, the University Heights Academy speakers blasted Bon Jovi’s “Bad Medicine.”
After a tight first half, which saw the Lady Blazers clinging to a 2-0 advantage, UHA handed the Lady Tigers a tough pill to swallow in the opening minutes of the second half.
The scored three times in the first 7 minutes of the second half and blew open a close game on the way to a 7-0 girls’ District 8 soccer win at Chris Simmons Field.
Kendall Hancock had three goals and added an assist to lead the Lady Blazers (5-0, 2-0). Gracie Ausenbaugh added a pair of goals. Alyssa Grise and Mayce Brown also scored for UHA.
Skylar Cantrell added an assist and Madison Williams made two saves for the win in goal.
The Lady Blazers outshot Hopkinsville 39-3 in the game.
Hoptown slipped to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in district play.
UHA plays host to Lyon County Thursday night and Hopkinsville is back in action Tuesday night at home against Caldwell County.
