If you see, or saw, any snow plows out on the roadways recently, don’t worry—there’s no snow in the forecast, but they’re preparing now for when there might be.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, there is no cause for concern, as crews are conducting the annual district-wide snow and ice training, to ensure they are fully prepared when winter weather does arrive.Â
Snow and ice teams have been reviewing operational procedures, testing equipment and driving their assigned routes for practice.
New employees used the opportunity to become familiar with the machinery and roadways they will cover during winter events, while veteran operators refreshed their skills and verified that their equipment is winter-ready.
