KYTC preparing for utility work in Guthrie area, shutting off flashing lights

Heads up to those traveling in Guthrie area—the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet are beginning a utility work project and are shutting off traffic lights in certain areas.

According to Todd County Emergency Management, the flashing beacon at U.S. 79 and KY 181 has been turned off already, and the same will happen at the four-way stop in Guthrie in the coming weeks. Flashing warning signs will replace the overhead beacons.

Motorists are advised to be aware of those changes and use appropriate caution in those areas, especially as work begins in earnest, having equipment and flaggers close to the roadway.
