KY 117 in Christian County will now officially be known as the POW/MIA Trail, following the passage of House Joint Resolution 5 passed earlier this year during the 2025 session of the General Assembly.
Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke made the announcement, saying, “American prisoners of war and their missing comrades have demonstrated the true spirit of our nation and should never be forgotten. Their stories of duty, dedication, and valor continue to inspire generations of Americans.”
As motorists look to travel across the southeast, then the designation of the POW/MIA Trail will help preserve the history of those who served and honor those who are still lost, while also attracting motorcycle and vehicle clubs to the area.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will erect the appropriate signage in the area.
