Kentucky State Police are investigating after a vehicle with human remains inside was found in the Ohio River near Dike Lane in Union County.
According to a news release, at around 10 a.m. Friday morning, a scuba diver located a submerged vehicle near a boat ramp in the Ohio River and immediately contacted the proper authorities. Once the vehicle was recovered, human remains were discovered inside.
Currently, the identity of the remains has not been confirmed, but investigators believe they could be connected to a Union County man who went missing in 2006.
The remains are being sent to the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and further analysis.
Investigation is underway, with additional information to be released as it becomes available.
