Kentucky unemployment rate touches five percent

Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary rate was five percent, up slightly from September. 

According to a news release from the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet, the October 2024 unemployment was five percent, up 0.1 percentage points from September and up 0.7 percentage points for one year ago.

The United States seasonally adjusted jobless rate for October was 4.1 percent, uncharged from September.

Kentucky’s civilian labor force was roughly 2 million in October 2024, an increase of 6,030 individuals from September 2024. The number of people employed in October increased by 4,631, while the number unemployed increased by 1,399.
