The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is seeking applicants for game warden positions in counties across the state.
To be eligible for the application process, you must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Applicants are also required to complete the online application and successfully pass a series of tests that evaluate their performance capabilities.
Selected applicants who are not already Peace Officers Professional Standards (POPS) certified will complete 20 weeks of basic training at the Department of Criminal Justice Traning in Richmond. They will follow this with 14 weeks at the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Academy and a final 12 weeks of on-the-job training with a field training officer.
They expect to assign game wardens to Caldwell, Christian, Henderson, Lyon, Muhlenberg, Trig, and Union counties.
