To help the local arts thrive, Hopkinsville Junior Auxiliary is inviting the community to their 60th annual Charity Ball on December 27.
The theme of this year’s ball is Jeweled Jubilee, and Junior Auxiliary member Alex Phipps recently appeared on WHOP News to share all of the details.
Junior Auxiliary is composed of local women who working to better the community. Phipps says they host fundraising events to support nonprofits and provide students with academic scholarships.
Along with celebrating the ball’s milestone, Phipps says 2025 also marks the 75th anniversary of Junior Auxiliary serving Christian County. The funds from each ball benefits a local organization and Phipps says this year they have chosen the Pennyroyal Arts Council.
Junior Auxiliary members often volunteer at the Alhambra Theatre, and Phipps says they want to support the council because the shows and opportunities they host allows folks to explore different parts of the art world.
Phipps says the ball will include live music from The Joshua Orion Band from Owensboro, appetizers, a caricature artist and a silent auction.
Phipps says they are looking for more items for the silent auction such as gift cards, themed baskets, services, tickets, jewelry, experiences and home decorations. The club is also searching for more event sponsors.
The ball takes over the Silo Event Center on December 27 and doors open at 7 p.m. Those interested in attending can get tickets from a Junior Auxiliary member or by filling out the Google form posted on the organization’s Facebook page.
Individual tickets cost $50 and couple tickets cost $90.
