Judge denies bond reduction for complicity to murder suspect

A motion to reduce bond was denied for now for complicity to murder suspect, Tyron Holt in Christian County Circuit Court on Monday.

Holt was arrested and charged with complicity to murder in connection to the shooting death of Gailon Toler in 2022. Holt’s defense attorney, Jarrod Jackson was not able to attend the bond motion, so Public Defender Eric Bearden appeared on his behalf.

In regards to the bond, Bearden says Holt’s pretrial risk assessment was low and he has no prior criminal offenses on his record.

If his bond were to be reduced, Holt says he would be able to live in Clarksville with his mother and he would be able to afford an ankle monitor.

Commonwealth’s Attorney, Maureen Leamy says Holt’s defense has already filed multiple bond reduction motions which were denied. Leamy also adds that the facts of the case remain the same and the victim’s family prefer for Holt to remain in custody.

Circuit Court Judge, Andrew Self denied the bond reduction and asked Leamy about the status of mediation, which she says has not been scheduled yet.

Both Holt and his co-defendant in the case, Omega Plaisime appeared in court on February 28 where their trial date was set for the week of August 12 if a resolution is not reached through mediation.

Self says he will revisit a bond reduction for Holt after mediation at his final pretrial conference on July 10.
