Hot start leads Logan County past University Heights

Logan County jumped out to a 15-0 lead and never looked back while defeating host University Heights Academy 63-46 Monday night in a boys’ high school basketball game.

The Blazers didn’t score their first basket until the 18 second mark of the first quarter.

The Cougars (15-9) won their fifth straight game, by jumping out to a 35-20 halftime advantage.

The Blazers were able to cut the deficit to eight in the fourth quarter, but Logan County was able to outscore UHA 20-13 in the final period to take the win.

Keyshawn Moore led UHA with 20 points and Hayden Hunt added 10.

The Blazers fell to 6-13 on the season and will play host to Christian County in a District 8 game on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. Airtime is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
