Once we make it through the Halloween activities set for Hopkinsville, eyes turn to the Veteran’s Honor Parade that is held each year downtown in honor of our servicemen and women.
According to a news release, the Veterans Honor Parade will take place Saturday, November 9 starting at 10 a.m. in downtown Hopkinsville. The route begins at the War Memorial Building and makes its way down Virginia Street, before making a left onto East Ninth Street and ending at the Christian County Justice Center.
A float will be available for those veterans who want to participate but would prefer to ride.
There will be a short ceremony following the parade, where the winners of the school challenges, including sidewalk saluters and the JROTC challenge, will be announced. In case of inclement weather, the JROTC challenge and the ceremony will be held inside the Memorial Building.
