A Hopkinsville teenager is facing numerous charges following a vehicle pursuit in Hopkinsville Tuesday.
According to the Hopkinsville Police Department report, officers responded to reports of a stolen vehicle traveling in the area of East First Street around 1 a.m. and they were able to locate the vehicle, where they attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle reportedly failed to stop and fled on Walnut Street towards Fort Campbell Boulevard.
After nearly wrecking several times, at one point losing the front right tire, the pursuit eventually came to a stop near the McDonalds on the Boulevard.
The driver, identified as a 16-year-old female, was taken into custody and search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a stolen handgun in the center console. Passengers in the vehicle sustained minor injuries in the course of the pursuit.
The driver was charged with felony receiving stolen property, first-degree fleeing or evading police, receiving stolen property, possession of a handgun by a minor, first-degree wanton endangerment and no operators license.
