Hopkinsville teen transported to hospital after a car ran over her foot

A Hopkinsville teenager was transported to a hospital after a car reportedly ran over her foot while she was attempting to get on a school bus Monday morning.

According to Hopkinsville Police, Brandy Klees of Elkton was driving a car west on 2nd Street and the accident happened as she was crossing the South Clay Street intersection near a school bus. Klees told officers that the bus lights were off at the time of the accident and claimed that the teenager walked out from a fence and the front passenger-side tire of the car ran over her foot.

The teenager reportedly told officers that she was on the bus but got off to put something back in her house. Then, as she went to get back on the bus, her foot was struck by the passenger car.

The teenager was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for possible injuries.
