Hopkinsville Police are investigating after officers were led on a pursuit by several motorcyclists on Sunday.
According to a report from police, the responding officer observed several motorcycles traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Fort Campbell Boulevard. The officer attempted to perform a traffic stop on the motorcyclist traveling in the rear of the group.
The motorcyclist reportedly sped up to the front of the group and began weaving through traffic. The suspect then allegedly stopped before taking off at around 120 MPH and disregarded a traffic light while doing so.
Officers pursued the motorcyclist onto Interstate 24 and then onto Pembroke Oak Grove Road before the pursuit was terminated because of heavy traffic and the officer losing sight of the motorcycle.
Officers, are investigating the pursuit as first-degree fleeing or evading police, careless driving, speeding and disregarding a traffic light.
