Hopkinsville Police arrested 25-year-old Keonte Lamar of Lexington and 26-year-old Keandre McCarley of Hopkinsville for wanton endangerment on Sunday after they reportedly fled from law enforcement and were found to be in possession of several firearms.
According to a report, officers were dispatched to a parking lot along Hammond Drive where a car was performing donuts. At the scene officers found a car that matched the description of the one that was doing donuts and when they approached the car, it reportedly started to drive away.
The responding officer then activated their emergency siren and then vehicle reportedly fled through the parking lot almost striking multiple occupied cars. The car stopped at the end of the parking lot and Lamar, the driver, and McCarley, the passenger, were detained.
A search of the car reportedly unveiled multiple firearms found with restricted ammunition.
Lamar was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, having no registration plates, failure to maintain insurance, having an expired operator’s license and using restricted ammo during a felony. McCarley was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, using restricted ammo during a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
