Hopkinsville Police arrest man for fleeing, assault

Hopkinsville Police arrested 23-year-old Frederick Reeves of Hopkinsville after he reportedly fled from an assault incident on Monday.

Dispatchers received a call from a victim who was allegedly being assaulted by Reeves at a residence on Sanderson Drive. Officers made contact with the victim who reportedly had swelling to their face and told officers that Reeves knocked them to the ground and threatened to suffocate them with a pillow.

The victim also said that Reeves allegedly fled from the scene once he realized law enforcement were coming. Officers later located him at a gas station on Glass Avenue and West 7th Street where he attempted to flee, but was apprehended.

Reeves is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police and fourth-degree assault.
