After months of rigorous, intense training, a Hopkinsville native has officially earned his Blue Angels Crest.
Devin Mosley joins the ranks of the Blue Angels, earning his crest on Friday of last week. The Blue Angels are the flight demonstration squadron of the United States Navy, and was established in 1946 to demonstrate the refined combat maneuvers of the Naval Operations. The Blue Angels are an elite crew of pilots that perform aerobatic feats across the nation.
Becoming a Blue Angel requires a long list of accomplishments, including being active-duty U.S. Navy or Marine Corps tactical jet pilot with at least 1,250 flight hours, carrier qualification and an operation fleet tour.
After being chosen through a team vote, the candidate must complete intense training, including a physical fitness tests and roughly 150 sorties before the first show they take part in.
