Hopkinsville mayor to present proposed budget at address

After receiving community input on the 2025-26 fiscal year budget, Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight is set to present his proposed budget at an address on May 2.

According to a news release, the budget will include items focused on enhancing public safety services and resources; advancing economic development opportunities; investing in city cleanliness and beautification and supporting the recruitment and retention of city staff.

After the address, the budget will be submitted to Hopkinsville City Council for discussion and final approval. The address gets underway at 9 a.m. on May 2 at the Hopkinsville Municipal Building and is open to the public.
