After being found guilty of conspiring to obtain and distribute drugs in January, 46-year-old Robert Blaine of Hopkinsville was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison on Tuesday.
According to a report, between May 2020 and January 2022, Blaine conspired with two other individuals, 40-year-old Jessica Ochoa of Phoenix, Arizona and 36-year-old Roderick Tutt of Hopkinsville to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine and over 400 grams of fentanyl.
Blaine reportedly sent Ochoa the money for the drugs and Tutt traveled to Arizona to pick it up. On his way back to Hopkinsville, Tutt was reportedly arrested and had 2,059 fentanyl pills and around 8 kilograms of methamphetamine in his possession.
Tutt was sentenced to two years in prison and Ochoa was sentences to seven years and four months in prison. Blaine has four previous drug related offenses between 2008 and 2014.
For his current offense, Blaine was charged with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, as well as seven counts of money laundering. Blaine is set to serve 30 years in prison to be followed by 10 years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
