A Hopkinsville man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly broke a woman’s sternum during a domestic dispute last week.
According to the Hopkinsville Police report, officers were called to Jennie Stuart Medical Center on Christmas Day around 9:45 p.m. for reports that a female victim had sought treatment for wounds from an assault. The victim told officers that 27-year-old Dalton Putty of Hopkinsville had thrown her to floor several days prior and stomped on her chest, causing serious physical injuries such as a broken sternum.
The victim stated she didn’t report the assault when it occurred because she was afraid for her safety.
When officers made contact with Putty, he was allegedly manifestly under the influence of alcohol, to the point officers believed he was a danger to himself and others. He reportedly resisted arrest and was found to have drug paraphernalia and marijuana on his person.
Putty is charged with first-degree assault, resisting arrest, public intoxication, second-degree disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and failure to notify change of address.
