Friday marked a big milestone for Hopkinsville Community College, as they awarded a record amount of credentials during two commencement ceremonies.
The commencements were for the fall semester, and the community college awarded 759 credentials to graduating students, which include associate degrees, diplomas and certifications, and represents a record number for the institution.
Olivia Lancaster was the student speaker during one of the commencement ceremonies, and she lauded her classmates for their impressive accomplishments, and thanking HCC and the community for the support she and other students have been shown.
Professor Pat Riley encouraged the graduates to never give up—always keep learning and striving for more.
HCC President and CEO Dr. Alissa Young says she and the faculty couldn’t be prouder of what these graduates have accomplished, many of them overcoming great adversity, and thanked them for choosing Hopkinsville Community College.
Dr. Young highlighted the fact that 2024 represents 60 years that HCC has been in the community, and she’s looking forward to seeing what the next 60 years holds for the college.
There were two commencement ceremonies held Friday to make room for all the graduates.
