The 2025-26 high school basketball season tips off tonight across Kentucky.
The Hopkinsville Tigers were scheduled to open their final season of play tonight at home against Ohio County. However, HHS school officials said this morning that due to expected inclement weather, Ohio County would not be playing tonight.
The Tigers return a solid nucleus from last year’s team that finished 15-16 a year ago.
Hoptown will now open the season Thursday night at Hopkins County Central. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. with airtime at 7:15 p.m. on 95.3 the Farm and 953thefarm.com
Meanwhile, the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers are on the road tonight to take on Warren Central at 7:30.
The Lady Tigers lost their top three scorers from a year ago to graduation. Hoptown, which finished 10-13 a year ago, routed the Lady Dragons 61-34 in last year’s season opener. Warren Central finished the 2024-25 season at 0-17.
Christian County’s boys’ team opens its 2025-26 season on Tuesday night at Apollo. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and airtime is 7:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
Heritage Christian Academy also opens its boys’ season on Thursday night at home against Caldwell County. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
University Heights Academy will open the Jordan Grace era on Friday night as the Blazers go to South Warren at 7:30.
The Christian County Lady Colonels open their season at home on Friday night as part of a girls’/boys’ doubleheader with Kenwood at 6 p.m..
