The Hopkinsville Fire Department is one of the busiest fire and EMS departments in the state, on track to make almost 16,000 calls for service this year alone—which means they’re always looking for more EMTs and firefighters.
Captain Payton Rogers says there’s a national shortage for EMTs, but the Hopkinsville Fire Department is doing their part in getting that number down, by offering numerous training programs for people to take part in, and folks come from across the region to learn from them.
Fire Station Five will help them in their efforts, as along with the fire station part of the facility to be located near South Park, it will also double as a training facility, and Rogers says that’s going to be a big asset for not just Hopkinsville, but this part of the state.
Rogers took the time to brag on their EMS teams, saying they’re the best of the best.
