Hensley leads strong HCA effort at State Cross-Country meet

Heritage Christian Academy used a top-60 performance from Aaron Hensley and a strong group performance from its next three runners to finish 31st in the KHSAA Boy’s Class 1-A State Cross Country Championships Saturday in Lexington.

Hensley completed the 3.1-mile rolling course in 59th-place in a time of 18:43.

Meanwhile, the group of Cadyn Travis, Kallan Davis, and John Spurling ran close together most of the race. Travis finished 129th with a 20:05. Davis and Spurling crossed the finish line in 198th and 214th, respectively, in 21:15 and 21:44.

Jerry Spurling and Ryan Goforth cross the line in 253rd and 254th. Jerry Spruling ran a 24:18.24 and Goforth had a 24:18.50.

Kollin Stokes ran 264th with a time of 28:19.

Louisville Collegiate scored 69 points to claim the team title, followed by St. Henry (136) and Beechwood (193).
