In a match between two of the top Region 2 girls’ soccer squads, host Henderson County held off University Heights Academy 3-1 Thursday night.
Kendall Hancock had the lone goal for UHA. Madison Williams had nine saves in goal.
UHA coach Michael Parker said his team didn’t play its best game, failing to connect on all nine corner kicks in the match.
The Lady Blazers slip to 7-2 on the season and will play again Monday at Ohio County. Henderson County improves to 9-4 with its fifth straight win.
