University Heights Academy’s volleyball team traveled to Henderson County to take on one of the top teams in Region 2 on Thursday night.
The Lady Colonels swept the Lady Blazers 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-14), but UHA coach Faye Hendricks said she was proud of her young team’s performance.
“They (Lady Colonels) are stacked, but I’m super proud of how my young team fought,” Hendricks said.
Cassidy Keller had a pair of kills and eight digs and Megan Long had a pair of kills and two blocks. Niyati Patel had four kills on the night for UHA.
Gretchen Durham finished with 11 assists, six digs, and a block.
The Lady Blazers (1-1) are scheduled to play Saturday in the Western Kentucky Smackdown at the Planters Bank-Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex.
