The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is going through some growing pains as they undergo some much-needed renovations, but Mary-Alice Jasper with the library says don’t let that keep you from visiting, because their programming is still going full steam.
Jasper says everything is currently on the ground floor, so if you get confused on finding something, just ask a librarian for help.
Programming and other services are still available, including their Epic Hours for young learners and families on Tuesdays, story times on Wednesday and much more.
There are plenty of book clubs to choose from to join, and there’s also a crochet and knitting club that’s held on Wednesdays at 5 p.m.
The library is hosting an art contest open to all ages and four winners will be selected. Not only will the winners have their art displayed in the library, but they will receive a prize of $250.
The library is looking for drawings, paintings and graphic design pieces that complement the art already in the space and shared two examples. Pieces should be submitted on paper or canvas and be no larger than 18 inches by 24 inches. Applications and guidelines are available at hccpl.org and the deadline is 6:30 p.m. on March 31.
